Located on the Hawkesbury River accessible by water only, with chartered ferries departing from Patonga, Brooklyn or Palm Beach. Around one hour’s drive from Sydney to Brooklyn and then a short 15 minute boat trip to the centre.
A stone’s throw:
- Barrenjoey Lighthouse: A not-too-difficult uphill walk ends at this historic lighthouse with spectacular 360 degree views including Lion Island, Brisbane Waters and Pittwater.
- Australian Reptile Park: Pat a kangaroo, touch a giant python, watch the snakes being milked, see Eric the crocodile at feeding time and enjoy a picnic in the grounds of the famous reptile park.
