Child protection officer

Child protection officers coordinate child protection activities and communicate the importance of child protection to members of your club.

If your club has a Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO), child protection may be part of their responsibility.

Using your club website, newsletter and meetings, make sure everyone at the club understands:

  • the child protection officer role – and that people can come to you with concerns
  • the importance of child protection
  • the club child protection policy, procedures and codes of conduct.

5. Manage allegations effectively
