| Exercise Health and Performance, University of Sydney | Electrical Stimulation (ES) Cycling will provide a social interactive sport and recreational program for paraplegics and quadriplegics. It will include indoor and outdoor cycling opportunities for people with a spinal injury. |
| Deaf Football Australia (NSW) | Will provide a schools football program for students with a hearing impairment to develop basic skills and provide them with an opportunity to play with their fellow students. The program will focus on sportsmanship and teamwork to assist students to acquire skills needed for social integration into local mainstream competitions. |
| Disabled Winter Sport Australia (NSW) | This project titled To Feel Freedom will provide education for ski instructors and ski guides to increase availability of ski programs and services for people with disabilities. The training will include safety considerations and the development of practical solutions to common issues. |
| Australian Electric Wheelchair Hockey (NSW) Inc | The program will provide education and training for players, coaches and referees. It will offer students and teachers the opportunity to attend and experience the sport of electric wheelchair hockey and gain the basic skills of the game. The aim is to encourage the inclusion of electric wheelchair hockey within the school sport program. |
| Bathurst Independent Living Skills Inc | The program will provide a structured learn to swim program for young adults with disabilities to broaden their range of skills and confidence. It will promote ongoing independent access to the pool facilities for participants in the program. |
| Disabled Surfers Association | The program called Smiles on Dials will provide an opportunity for people with disabilities to experience the sport of surfing. This project caters for all levels of disability. |
| Central Coast Cycling Club | The cycling club will provide education, training and skill development workshops to people with disabilities and their families. The club will introduce people to a range of modified cycles such as tandem, hand cycles and trikes and provide instruction in their use. The aim of the program is to enable people with disabilities to join friends and family members and enjoy cycling together both as part of club activities and as a recreational pursuit. |
| Deniliquin Sports Park Inc | Deniliquin after-school program will provide fundamental skills and confidence in basketball, football, cricket and golf for children with disabilities. Once skills have been developed children will be provided with the opportunity to participate in existing junior sport programs. |
| Bonnyrigg Heights P&C Association | The program will further assist students develop gross and fine motor skills to enable them to participate in an inclusive sports program. |
| Manning/Great Lakes Ability All Sports | Ability all sports will provide a diverse range of skill development opportunities to both schools and adults with disabilities in sports such as basketball, tennis, croquet, sailing, tenpin and lawn bowls. The program will include awareness clinics, training for coaches and volunteers, to support ongoing opportunities for people with disabilities. |
| Riding for the Disabled (NSW) - Inverell Centre | Establish a Riding for the Disabled centre in Inverell and provide specially designed programs and ongoing opportunities for people with disabilities to enjoy riding in a safe and supervised environment. |
| Kempsey Respite Service Inc | This project called Saturday Youth Sport will support children with disabilities aged 10 to18 years to engage in various local Saturday sports such as football, baseball, netball and surfing. The program will provide an opportunity to experience the sport in a non-threatening environment so that participants gain basic skills. The program will encourage participants to join ongoing community programs and competitions. |
| Kogarah RSL Sub Branch Youth Club | Jelly Beans Gymnastics will provide a program for children with disabilities to develop co-ordination, balance, resilience and confidence skills alongside their peers. |
| Liverpool City Amateur Swimming Club | The program will provide a learn to swim opportunity aimed at five to 12 year old children with disabilities. It will develop water safety skills and encourage social interaction to develop skills that the participants can use as they progress into swim squads and competitions. |
| Narrabri Stingrays Swimming Club | Swim Club will provide training and coaching to ensure people with disabilities have access to grass roots skill development programs and be integrated into squads, club race nights and competition at local carnivals. The program aims to encourage people with disabilities to swim and become competitive members of the club. |
| Castle Personnel Services (provides job-seeking and job readiness support to clients with disabilities) | Time To Get Active will provide support and encourage young adults aged 18 to25 with disabilities to access various activities through The Forum Sports and Aquatic Centre. The aim is to develop basic sport, life and team skills, build confidence and self-esteem to increase their participation in community sports. Participants will also be advised of the benefits to physical and mental health that involvement in sport activities brings. |
| Sailability NSW | Sailing Away will provide an introductory sailing program for school children in regional NSW to develop basic skills, self esteem and communication skills while enjoying and experiencing the freedom of sailing. |
| NSW Goalball | Develop a Goalball schools competition: to provide an introductory skill development program and give students with vision impairment the opportunity to experience what sport and physical activity can offer. They will be able to play alongside their fellow students and inter-schools competitions will be developed after initial pilot program. |
| Illawarra Wheelchair Basketball | Develop the sport of Wheelchair Basketball especially for beginners and juniors. This program will encourage people with disabilities to join and be part of an ongoing team environment participating in regular training sessions and competition. |
| Sailability NSW Tweed Heads Branch | The program will provide access to safe sailing opportunities for people with disabilities, while facilitating community inclusion and strengthening the opportunity for family to join together for sporting pursuits. |
| Special Olympics NSW | The program aims to provide support and education to enable people with intellectual disabilities to enjoy accessible sport and physical activities within their local area. |
| Wheelchair Sport NSW | The program will provide sport opportunities for people with disabilities in regional and remote areas. This will include clinics, camps and professional development programs for athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers to support ongoing opportunities for people with disabilities. |
| The Leisure Company Integrated Recreation Inc | Let’s Get Physical will provide intensive netball clinics for people with disabilities to participate in a local indoor competition. It will provide skilled players with a challenging competition while also catering for less skilled players in a fun environment. |
| Junction House Inc (Disability service for Adults with a Intellectual disability) | The program will offer a tailor made physical fitness program to meet specific needs of the participants. It aims to enhance confidence and facilitate lifestyle change especially in those who are currently not very active. It will involve both individual physical challenges and competitions. |
| The Disability Trust, Recreation Illawarra | Basketball for all aims to set up a new competition with Illawarra Basketball for people with an intellectual disability and will provide a regular competition and training support for the program. |
| School Sport Unit - Disability Sport, Department of Education and Training | The School Sport Unit will identify students with a disability within the public school system and coordinate opportunities for these students to access programs available through local sporting organisations that will develop their fundamental movement skills. The program will involve various sports with the ultimate aim of including the students in ongoing local competitions. |
| Support Unit, Moruya High School | Provide coach training and specialised equipment to ensure all students with disabilities have equal access to skill development and opportunities to participate in a local basketball program. |
| Wheelchair Sport NSW | Provide opportunities for athletes in wheelchair sports through coaching and development programs to promote and provide ongoing grass-roots skill development mainly in track and field |
| Sailability NSW Penrith Lakes | The program will offer a series of open days to promote sailing and provide introduction skills, sailing accredited courses and regattas. The overall focus is on personal development, social interaction and the opportunity to experience the freedom of sailing and enhance the quality of life |
| Bankstown City YMCA | The program will focus on movement skills, self-esteem, social well being, and personal fitness in a non competitive sporting environment. The program will also provide referrals to local sport and recreational opportunities and family education. The program will be structured to cater for both children and adults and will incorporate mobility, coordination, balance, as well as fun. |
| Nepean District Football Association | The program will provide an opportunity to participate in soccer from introductory skills and training opportunities to regular soccer activities, individual assessments and athlete pathways. The program will focus on a junior program (five to 14 year olds) for children with a broad range of disabilities and finally expanded to the older age groups once the program is established |
| Recreation Sports and Aquatics Club | The program will establish tailored activities based on the identified needs of the participants to introduce and develop skills and interest in sport and recreation and establish links to support ongoing mainstream opportunities. |
| Macarthur District Softball | The program will be open for players aged five to 65, with three age groups: five to nine years, ten to 17 years and 18 years and over. There will be two streams - one specifically for people with disabilities in each age group and the second will be a support program for people with disabilities being integrated into the mainstream. |
| Softball NSW | The program will deliver a series of development opportunities through schools and disability organisations to support growth of softball programs for people with a disability, initially in south-west Sydney and expanding throughout greater western Sydney. |
| Northcott Disability Services | Fitness for all provides disability awareness, information and resources to assist people with disabilities access to fitness centres and various programs. |
| The Royal Life Saving Society | The project aims to support local community groups strengthen their ability to provide learn-to-swim classes, ongoing regular programs and access to competitions for swimmers with disabilities (SWD). The program will provide training and professional development, network events and regular workshops to ensure there are opportunities for SWD to participate in a range of aquatic experiences. |
