International travel support program for athletes with a disability

This program aims to assist athletes with a disability to access sanctioned international sporting competitions and also provides for those athletes who require assistance with their normal daily living on a full-time basis or athletes that require assistance to compete in their sport.

Who can apply?

Athletes and athlete assistants.

Athletes must:

  • Be a permanent resident of NSW
  • Be a registered member of a recognised NSW State Sporting Organisation
  • Be eligible to be selected for a sanctioned International event
  • Not be receiving full funding support for the event

Athlete assistants must:

  • Be a permanent resident of NSW
  • Be assisting athletes who require assistance with their normal daily living on a full-time basis or athletes that require assistance to compete in their sport

Type of assistance offered

Grants between $250 - $1,000 are available. Athletes and assistants are eligible for one international travel grant per financial year.

When can I apply?

Applications for events July 2007 - June 2008 have now closed. Applications for events July 2008 - June 2009 will be available late August.
