Capital assistance program self-assessment checklist
The following checklist is provided to assist prospective applicants evaluate whether their project will be eligible for assessment under the program.
If a project fails to meet the eligibility requirements of the program then it will be deemed ineligible for further consideration.
- Is the project located within the boundaries of the state of NSW?

- Is the project available for the general public to use?
YES / NO
- Will the project assist ‘not for profit’ sporting and recreational organisations and/or local government authorities to develop community oriented sporting and/or recreational facilities?

- Will the project be able to commence within nine months and be completed within two years of the announcement date?
YES / NO
- Can the organisation verify that all the funds will be available excluding the grant, to commence and complete the project immediately? (verification will need to be attached to the application form when lodged)
Note: Not required for grants under $10,000.

- Is the grant being requested less than or equal to 50 per cent of the net project cost?
(Net Project Cost = Total Project Cost – 1/11 for the GST)

- Does the project involve one or more of the following?

- Construction of a new local sporting, recreation and/or physical activity facility?
- Enhancement of an existing facility by inclusion of additional features?
- Provision of ancillary and support facilities at existing venues?
- Provision of additional outdoor courts and playing areas?
- Improved access for under-represented and/ or disadvantaged groups in the community?
- Can you complete the application form and lodge two copies of it prior to the closing date?

Please note: NSW Sport and Recreation receives approx. 500 eligible applications under this program. Of these applications approx. 65% are assisted.
