A successful school camp has the power to transform your students in a very short space of time. They provide opportunities for students to live in shared accommodation, develop social skills and independence, challenge themselves and enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle.
We have the expertise to enhance your students’ development through a camp that provides experiential learning for both primary and secondary groups. Our qualified staff can tailor sessions that are facilitated with a specific purpose ranging from participation, competition, skill acquisition, education or development.
We recognise that teacher involvement is at the heart of every successful camp, so you’ll find that our instructors will work closely with you to support what you’re doing with the curriculum. You can expect a warm welcome and plenty of encouragement to get as much from the camp experience as your students.
About Lake Burrendong
Lake Burrendong is an hour’s drive from Orange, Mudgee and Dubbo in central west NSW. Nearby attractions include Dubbo Gaol, Western Plains Zoo and the old gold mining sites offer a great opportunity to explore the HSE Gold Unit. The bushland environment also offers the chance to explore native flora and fauna and Indigenous culture.
- Age groups: The Centre is popular with primary and secondary schools.
- Camp length: depending on availability we recommend that schools attend camp
for either 3 or 5 days. - Programs offered:
Primary: Outdoor education, Gold Rush
Secondary: Outdoor education, Equipped for life, Peer support and orientation,Crossroads - Maximum occupancy: up to 150 students and 10 staff members.
