Camp locations

We offer a choice of 11 Sport and Recreation Centres around NSW in a range of coastal, alpine, country and city locations. All Centres offers modern accommodation and facilities, traditional camp programs and fully qualified instructors.

Different Centres offer different specialist programs, taking full advantage of the unique features of their particular location.

BerryBerry

Berry is on the south coast, about a two-hour drive from Sydney. It is surrounded by the Great Dividing Range and Seven Mile Beach. We have a range of ‘at height’ activities including challenge ropes course, giant swing, rock climbing and a 370-metre cable glide.


Broken BayBroken Bay

Broken Bay offers a beach and bush setting at the mouth of the Hawkesbury River. From Sydney it’s about an hour’s drive and short ferry ride. The Centre features a rich abundance of native flora and fauna, as well as Aboriginal rock carvings.

  • Age groups: The Centre is popular with primary schools and
    junior secondary school grades.
  • Camp length: depending on availability we recommend that schools
    attend camp for either 3 or 5 days.
  • Programs offered:
    Primary: Outdoor education
    Secondary: Outdoor education, Peer support and orientation
  • Maximum occupancy: up to 200 students and 20 staff members.

BorambolaBorambola

Borambola is 25 kilometres east from Wagga Wagga and around five hours from Sydney. The Centre’s rural setting offers an ideal opportunity to study rural heritage. Its proximity to Canberra and the Snowy Mountains means additional excursions can be planned outside camp activities.


JindabyneJindabyne

Jindabyne is about a six-hour drive from Sydney, at the gateway to the Snowy Mountains. The Centre offers programs in all season and the distinctive environmental features of the mountain country and nearby attractions like the Snowy Hydro Scheme Information and Education Centre offer excellent opportunities to explore aspects of the curriculum. Our location also lends itself to combining a traditional camp experience with a visit to Canberra to see the Australian War Memorial, tour Parliament House or discover the science fun at Questacon.


Lake AinsworthLake Ainsworth

Lake Ainsworth is at Lennox Head on the NSW north coast, about two hours’ drive south of Brisbane and nine hours north of Sydney. The Centre is located on a freshwater tea tree lake and has a beach. A mild climate year-round means aquatic activities are a feature.

  • Age groups: The Centre is particularly good for Primary groups, although
    secondary school programs are also offered.
  • Camp length: depending on availability we recommend that schools attend
    camp for either 3 or 5 days.
  • Programs offered:
    Primary: Outdoor education
    Secondary: Outdoor education, Peer support and orientation
  • Maximum occupancy: up to 150 students and 10 staff members.

Lake BurrendongLake Burrendong

Lake Burrendong is an hour’s drive from Orange, Mudgee and Dubbo in central west NSW. Nearby attractions include Dubbo Gaol, Western Plains Zoo and the old gold mining sites offer a great opportunity to explore the HSE Gold Unit. The bushland environment also offers the chance to explore native flora and fauna and Indigenous culture.


Lake KeepitLake Keepit

Lake Keepit in north-west NSW and is a 40-minute drive from Tamworth and about 30 minutes from Gunnedah. Nearby attractions include the Skywatch Observatory in Coonabarabran and the Waterways Wildlife Park in Gunnedah. The Centre’s location in timber country is ideal for overnight campouts and activities with an environmental focus.


Milson IslandMilson Island

Milson Island is in the Hawkesbury River, about three kilometres west of the F3 freeway bridge at Brooklyn. Only one hours drive from Sydney or Newcastle and a short ferry ride the Centre occupies the whole island. Bushwalking, orienteering and overnight camping are popular activities.

  • Age groups: The Centre is particularly good for Primary groups, although secondary
    school programs are also offered.
  • Camp length: depending on availability we recommend that schools attend camp
    for either 3 or 5 days.
  • Programs offered:
    Primary: Outdoor education
    Secondary: Outdoor education, Peer support and orientation
  • Maximum occupancy: up to 167 students and 10 staff members.

Myuna BayMyuna Bay


On the foreshore of Lake Macquarie in the Hunter Valley Myuna Bay is about one and a half hour’s drive north of Sydney and about 40 minutes south of Newcastle.


Point WolstoncroftPoint Wolstoncroft

Point Wolstoncroft is on the eastern foreshore of Lake Macquarie, about an hour’s drive north of Sydney and 45 minutes south of Newcastle. Aquatic activities form a large part of the Point Wolstoncroft experience, together with opportunities to discover the natural environment.


Sydney AcademySydney Academy

Located on Narrabeen Lakes, about 25 kilometres north of Sydney, the Sydney Academy's state-of-the-art facilities enable it to run camps for large school camps. Its location also offers easy access to Sydney attractions such as the zoo, the Opera House and museums.
