Personal and study skills workshops for high school students.

The tranquil environment of a Sport and Recreation Centre is the perfect place for students to develop life skills, learn how to study effectively and hone their abilities to make informed decisions.

Tailored to the group’s needs, workshops at our centres can be delivered independently at selected centres or as part of a longer school camp.

These development programs are available at the same price as a normal school camp. At an average price of $46 per student per day, our school camps offer quality programs and great value for money.

Equipped for life

Equipped for life personal leadership workshops develop living skills through experiential learning activities. Underlying themes include the importance of taking responsibility, setting goals and priorities, teamwork, cooperation and effective communication.

Thanks for a great day. I’d definitely recommend Equipped for life to other schools and teachers. It was very well organised, with good activities relevant for teenage boys. Scott Andrews, Bomaderry High School

Developed by outdoor education specialists in consultation with a leadership training expert and high school teachers, Equipped for life uses indoor games and activities, small group learning and discussion, and outdoor activities to explore a range of personal leadership themes.

Equipped for life can be adapted for students in Years 8 to 11 and is offered at Berry, Borambola, Jindabyne, Lake Burrendong and Sydney Academy.

Study skills

The relaxed and interactive environment of a school camp provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn and refine study skills.

Our Study skills workshops use experiential learning activities to help students discover their own learning styles and how to study effectively. The sessions also cover time management, planning and priorities, motivation, goalsetting, study techniques and exam preparation.

Suited to Year 10 and 11 students, this one-day program was developed by experienced teachers in consultation with a selection of NSW high school teachers. You can choose Study skills as part of your school camp activities at Berry, Borambola, Jindabyne, Myuna Bay or Sydney Academy.

Crossroads

Crossroads is a personal development and health education course that government schools are required to deliver during Year 11 and 12. Sessions cover drug education, sexual health and relationships, with activities geared to help students reflect on and share issues important to them.

Crossroads is usually delivered in instalments over a number of days alongside more traditional school camp activities. Crossroads is available at most sport and recreation centres. You can also complement your Crossroads course with a study skills or an Equipped for Life workshop at Berry, Borambola, Jindabyne, Broken Bay, Lake Burrendong, Myuna Bay or Sydney Academy.
