Outcomes and experiences

Whether you have specific goals in mind or just want a fun and challenging experience out of the classroom, our NSW Sport and Recreation centres will design and deliver a camp that meets your needs.

Each centre also offers unique experiences related to its scenic natural environment. Refer to which centre is best for my group for an overview.

Primary schools

The focus of primary school camps is the development of social skills and independence.

A primary program promotes active and healthy lifestyles, introduces students to outdoor and environmental education, and is adaptable to suit each group’s needs.

Programs are designed to meet the outcomes from Key Learning Areas, through activities suitable for primary-aged students.

Camp activities meet outcomes from the Personal Development, Health and Physical Education syllabus and promote skills associated with syllabus areas for Human Society and Its Environment.

We regularly develop new specialised programs for primary students.

Current offerings include field studies programs at Jindabyne in HSIE (Human Society in its Environment), science, history and geography subjects.

  • Lake Burrendong Gold Rush - an exciting adventure awaits school groups who choose a Lake Burrendong gold rush program to explore the HSIE Gold Unit
  • City to Country - for Years 4, 5 and 6, this program offers an all-inclusive Aussie bush experience for city school kids.
  • Alpine Experience (Borambola) - combines a stimulating outdoor education program with an exploration of the beautiful Snowy Mountains. The Alpine Experience includes a one-day excursion to explore places like Kiandra goldfields, Talbingo Snowy Hydro, Yarrangobilly Caves and Mt Selwyn Snowfields. The program can be tailored to meet units of work from the K-6 Science and Technology syllabus.

Secondary schools

Secondary school students participate in outdoor recreational activities while also exploring various aspects of the syllabus particularly in personal development, health and physical education, leadership and study skills.

Promoting active and healthy lifestyles, camp activities also help to broaden students’ choice of pursuits, hobbies and careers.
