School age Swim and SurviveSchool age children quickly learn how to have fun in the water and it doesn’t take long for swimming to become second nature.
Our Swim and Survive lessons cater for school age children (5 to 12 years) from beginners through to those needing stroke correction.
Participants can choose between our three Swim and Survive Active levels, depending on their ability.

Level 1 - Water DiscoveryFor children who are non-swimmers, have never had swimming lessons, aren’t confident in the water. The aim is to develop confidence and basic skills such as submerging, blowing bubbles and safe entry and exit. |

Level 2 - Water AwarenessFor children with some water confidence, who can submerge with eyes open, float with a floatation aid for 30 seconds, and can move through the water unassisted for three metres with feet clear of the bottom. The aim is to develop confidence, basic stroke and breathing skills. |

Level 3 - Water SenseFor children who can float unassisted and swim 20 metres using actions resembling any stroke. The aim is to develop stroke skills (up to 50m) and basic lifesaving skills. |
School age classes cost $61 (not including pool entry fee) for either, nine 40 minute lessons, or eight 45 minute lessons. A sibling discount is available for any additional school age child enrolled into the same program dates ($45 not including pool entry).
Classes are generally held on consecutive weekdays except where otherwise noted.
We aim to re-grade your child, if necessary, in the first lesson. However, other grades may not be offered or may be full at that venue and time: it may be necessary to place your child in a composite class.
