Preschool and infant SwimsafeInfant and preschool Swimsafe

Infant and preschool Swimsafe develops water confidence through games and fun activities.

Any child over 18 months can participate, and mum, dad or an adult carer joins the child in the water for every lesson. This helps develop confidence, and the adult then learns how to teach and encourage the child after lessons are finished.

Children under 4 years are generally not sufficiently developed to learn the skills necessary to swim. However, Swimsafe teaches basic familiarisation and safety skills such as getting in and out of the water, blowing bubbles and floating.
