For those who want to improve their sporting performance, the Academy is an ideal venue which combines world class sporting facilities, modern facilities and accommodation with the convenience of being close to the city and beaches.
Did you know?
There are a number of sporting organisations at the Sydney Academy, including:
- Sports fitness testing - a range of fitness testing services available to both elite and recreational athletes.
- Sport science for schools - field testing for school teams and sports science demonstrations designed to contribute to the PDHPE sports science syllabus.
- Sports training programs - sports training programs to meet the needs of sporting teams, individuals, clubs and schools. Includes: Talented Athlete Program, Athlete Development Program
Sports facilities
Sports facilities at the Sydney Academy include:
- 400 metre Olympic standard athletics track
- New 25 metre, six-lane heated indoor pool with recovery centre including cold plunge pools and contrast showers ideal for sports recovery
- Multi purpose indoor sports gymnasium – with markings for two netball courts, two basketball courts and one full-size futsal court
- Five multi-purpose ovals (three with lighting) – suitable for rugby league, rugby union, soccer, hockey and AFL
- Flexipave netball courts with lighting
- Two cricket net facilities, one with synthetic futsal pitch for training and drills
- Air-conditioned weights and cardio centre – developed specifically for elite sports strength and conditioning
- Six tennis courts (with lighting)
- Sports Science High Performance Laboratory available to the public
- Aquatic centre – for sailing, canoeing and kayaking
- Camping and bushwalking tracks
- Fitness and jogging tracks
- Sports medicine and physiotherapy
- Guests can also make use of the kiosk and picnic areas.
