The Open Day featured a range of activities, including local sport and activity providers, Centre programs and food and picnic options.
Activities included cricket, netball, PCYC ninja obstacle course, Traditional Indigenous Games and a jumping castle.
Centre staff also delivered short ‘taster’ sessions of Centre activities, including archery, pedal carts, canoeing and slip and slide.
Throughout the day staff provided tours of the site, showcasing the accommodation and facilities available at the Centre.
NSW Office of Sport Chief Executive Karen Jones attended the Open Day and said:
“Last Sunday’s Open Day was an opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to come together and experience the range of sport and recreation activities available both at the Centre and in the region.
“Highlights included the cricket and netball sessions run by Wellington Cricket Club and Netball NSW, with the young enthusiastic participants really enjoying themselves.
“Other highlights included the jumping castle and Wellington PCYC’sNinja Warrior.
“Our staff were delighted to hear the positive feedback from attendees, in particular adults who were returning to the Centre with their families for the first time since attending a school camp.
“Our team loved hosting the community and would like to thank everyone who came along.
“We can’t wait to see them return for our inaugural Family Weekend Getaway on 16–17 March.”
